Thought this sign in the computer room of their library was interesting - No singing on your way home please!
On our way home (we didn't sing) it was raining hard enough that we purchased an umbrella so we could wander through the "Taste of York" going on in the city center - much like the food fairs in the U.S. where different restaurants and farmers/small grocers have booths set up to sample (and purchase) their wares. We ended up with a roast pork sandwich, since there were several "hog roast" stands. They are served with stuffing and applesauce.... Interestingly, the cafeteria at school the next day had the same dish, so it must be a Yorkshire thing. Also got some great bread and a month's supply of olives and cheese, plus some smoked salmon for John's breakfast. The rain kept coming down harder, so we headed home, with a short stop for laundry soap and coffee. Had a nice evening at home with our bread, olives and cheese.
Received one of those calls at midnight that everyone dreads when traveling: in this case an emergency at home for one of my students. Spent some time making sure all that could be done in such a situation was taken care of, but still didn't sleep much.
